Where trains from Charing Cross go
Charing Cross is the terminus for Southeastern services through south-east London and into Kent, including Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Hastings and Dover. Trains also stop at Waterloo East and London Bridge on the way out. If you are visiting friends in Kent or heading for the coast at Hastings, this is where your journey begins.
Right in the heart of the West End
The station sits on the Strand, next to Trafalgar Square and within walking distance of Covent Garden, the National Gallery and many West End theatres. That is why a lot of our Charing Cross bookings have nothing to do with trains. People come for a matinee, a meal or an exhibition, and the station forecourt is a handy, easy-to-find meeting point.
The journey
From Motspur Park the car usually takes the A3 towards Wandsworth, then crosses the river and follows the Embankment towards the Strand. Charing Cross is in the central Congestion Charge zone. Ask when you book whether the charge is included.
| Time of day | Typical journey |
|---|---|
| Early morning | 30–40 min |
| Weekday peaks | 55–80 min |
| Off-peak | 40–60 min |
| Late evening | 30–45 min |
Central London roads around Trafalgar Square are often closed for events and marches. Your driver will choose the best available approach on the day.
Theatre trips and late returns
The best part of an evening in town is not having to think about getting home. Book your return when you book the outward trip, and agree a nearby meeting point with your driver. When the show ends at 22:30, the car will be there. For a group, the 6 seater taxi or 7 seater MPV keeps everyone together.
