Sutton at a glance
Sutton is a big town centre, built around a long, mostly pedestrian High Street with the St Nicholas Centre and the Times Square shopping area. Sutton station, at the top of the High Street, is served by Southern and Thameslink trains. The town is also home to major hospitals, including the Royal Marsden's Sutton site, with St Helier hospital close by.
From Motspur Park, a car reaches Sutton in around 15 to 22 minutes, usually via Worcester Park and Cheam.
Hospital journeys
Many of our Sutton bookings are hospital trips. Appointments at the Royal Marsden, or visits to St Helier, can be tiring, and parking is not always easy. A car to the main entrance helps. If you are not sure when you will finish, call 020 3642 6159 when you are ready and we will send a car back.
Large hospital sites have several entrances. Tell us the department or entrance name when you book, so the driver drops you in the right place.
Sutton station and the High Street
The station is a common pick-up and drop-off point. As the High Street is mostly pedestrianised, tell us where to meet: the station forecourt on Mulgrave Road or the roads around the top of the High Street are usually best.
Airports from Sutton
Sutton is well placed for Gatwick, with the car heading south on the A217 towards the M25. A Heathrow run takes longer, but is still easier than using public transport with luggage. Our 6 seater taxi is popular with Sutton families heading off on holiday.
