London City Airport Transfers Cab
London City Airport is only about 17 miles away as the crow flies, but it is on the other side of the river and the city. The journey depends heavily on the time of day. The car typically heads up the A3 through Wandsworth, crosses towards the Embankment and continues east through the Limehouse Link tunnel to the Royal Docks. An alternative uses the South Circular and the Rotherhithe or Blackwall tunnels. Your driver will choose the best route for the traffic.
Typical journey times
| Time of day | Typical journey |
|---|---|
| Before 06:30 | 40–55 min |
| Weekday morning peak | 75–100 min |
| Midday | 55–80 min |
| Evening | 50–70 min |
Some routes pass through the central London Congestion Charge zone during charging hours. Ask whether this is included when you book.
Why travellers choose London City
London City is a compact airport with a short walk from the entrance to security. Business travellers use it for European capitals, Edinburgh, Dublin and other short-haul routes, often on day trips. With an early flight, a car straight from your door avoids changing between the Northern line, Jubilee line and DLR with a wheelie case.
London City has tight check-in deadlines and a short walk to the gate, which works in your favour, but always allow time for London traffic on the way there.
Executive travel - London Airport Car Service
If you are travelling on business, or collecting a client from London City, ask for an executive car. It has more legroom and a quieter cabin, so you can work, take calls or simply relax before a meeting. Saloons are available for everyday trips, and our 6 seater taxi works for a team travelling together.
Arriving at London City Airport Cab
Give us your flight number and the driver will watch the arrival. Pick-up is close to the terminal entrance, and meet and greet is available if you would like to be met inside. For corporate travellers, booking a regular return makes late-evening arrivals much simpler.
Airport Taxis London - Payment and receipts
Every trip has a fixed fare. Pay by card or cash, and ask for a receipt to be emailed if you need one for expenses.
Other airports and connections
We also cover Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted. If you need to get to the City or Canary Wharf by train instead, a car to London Bridge or Waterloo is often a quick alternative. Our hotel transfer taxi can take visiting colleagues to their hotel after landing. We regularly collect from Wimbledon and Raynes Park as well as Motspur Park itself.
