Getting around Colliers Wood
Colliers Wood is built along the A24 High Street, with the Northern line station at its centre. On one side are the Tandem Centre and the retail parks; on the other, the River Wandle winds past Wandle Park and the old craft workshops of Merton Abbey Mills. It is a busy, well-connected place, but the A24 can be slow, and getting to an airport or a central terminal with luggage is far easier by car.
From Motspur Park, our cars typically come via Kingston Road and through South Wimbledon, taking around 15 to 22 minutes.
Pick-up points
- Colliers Wood tube station, on the High Street.
- The Tandem Centre and Priory Retail Park, for big shopping trips.
- Merton Abbey Mills, a popular spot at weekends.
- Homes on the streets either side of the High Street, from Christchurch Road to the roads near the Wandle.
Shopping at the retail parks? A car home with heavy bags or flat-pack furniture is much easier than the bus. Tell us if you have large items so we send the right size of vehicle.

Weekends at Merton Abbey Mills
On weekends Merton Abbey Mills fills up with market stalls, food traders and families walking the Wandle Trail. Parking nearby is limited, so a car drop-off at the entrance is easier than circling for a space. It works the other way too: if you have bought something bulky at the market or the retail parks, call 020 3642 6159 and we will send a car with room for it. Dog walkers heading for the riverside paths can use our pet friendly taxi.
