Taxi from Luton Airport
London Luton Airport is around 43 miles north of Motspur Park, in Bedfordshire. The standard route joins the M25 at Wisley via the A3, then runs anticlockwise past Heathrow and Watford to junction 21a. From there the M1 heads north to junction 10, and the airport road brings you to the terminal drop-off. Late at night the alternative through north-west London on the A406 can be just as quick, and your driver will choose based on the traffic.
Typical journey times
| When you travel | Typical journey |
|---|---|
| Overnight and early morning | 60–75 min |
| Weekday peaks | 95–120 min |
| Daytime off-peak | 70–95 min |
The stretch of M25 between junctions 10 and 16 is one of the busiest roads in the country, so leave plenty of time on weekday mornings and Friday afternoons.
Book Taxi to Luton Airport - Arriving at the terminal
Luton has a single terminal building. Cars use the drop-off zone close to the entrance, and the airport charges a fee for using it. Ask whether the charge is included when you book. If you are being collected, the driver will use the pick-up area or the short-stay car park, depending on whether you have asked for meet and greet.
Luton is a major base for low-cost airlines with strict bag-drop deadlines. Plan your pick-up time around when bag drop closes, not just your departure time.
Why drive rather than take the train?
The rail option means getting to Farringdon or St Pancras first, catching the Thameslink to Luton Airport Parkway and then the shuttle to the terminal. That is three changes with cases in hand. A door-to-terminal car removes every one of them, and for two or more people the fixed fare often compares well with combined train tickets.
Choosing a car - Luton Taxis Numbers
A saloon suits one to three passengers with a couple of suitcases. Families flying to Eastern Europe or the Mediterranean, often with bulky hold luggage, usually need our 6 seater taxi. For groups of seven or eight, book the 7 seater MPV. Child seats are available on request.
Coming home - Luton Airport Taxi Transfers
For your return, give us the flight number. The arrival is tracked, so the driver will be there whether you land early or late. Meet and greet is available if you would like to be met inside the terminal.
