A quiet corner with good connections
Merton Park is one of south-west London's calmer neighbourhoods, with much of it inside a conservation area laid out around John Innes Park. Its tree-lined streets, Victorian and Edwardian houses and small parades give it a village feel, even though it sits between Wimbledon and Morden.
Getting around is easy in some directions and slower in others. The Merton Park tram stop links to Wimbledon and Croydon, and Morden and South Wimbledon on the Northern line are close by. But heading out to an airport, or across to Surrey, is where a car makes things much simpler.
How we reach Merton Park
From Motspur Park, a car usually comes along Burlington Road and Kingston Road, or across via Martin Way. It typically takes 10 to 15 minutes. We pick up from homes across the area, from the streets around John Innes Park and Mostyn Gardens to the houses along Dorset Road and Merton Hall Road.
Some streets in Merton Park are narrow with parked cars on both sides. If your road is tight, let us know a good place for the driver to stop.
Journeys Merton Park customers book
Heading to the airport
Families here often fly from Gatwick, which is reached through Sutton and Reigate, or from Heathrow via the A3. For long-haul trips with plenty of luggage, the 6 seater taxi is a popular choice.
Trains from central London
Trains north from Euston or King's Cross mean a journey across London. With a suitcase, a direct car saves changing at Kennington or Stockwell.
Local errands and appointments
Doctors' appointments, shopping trips and visits to friends nearby are all part of the job. Many older residents book a regular car for weekly trips, and the fixed fare means no surprises.

Typical journey times
| Destination | Typical time |
|---|---|
| Wimbledon station | 6–10 min |
| Morden town centre | 5–8 min |
| Heathrow Airport | 35–50 min |
