Where Euston takes you
Euston is the gateway to the West Coast Main Line. Avanti West Coast runs to Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and North Wales, while London Northwestern covers Milton Keynes, Northampton and the West Midlands. It is also home to the Caledonian Sleeper, the overnight train to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness and Fort William.
From Motspur Park, Euston by public transport usually means the train to Waterloo and then the Northern line. That is fine with a rucksack, but awkward with a suitcase, a pushchair or a late-night departure. A car to the station door is often simpler.
The journey
The car typically follows the A3 into London, crosses the Thames and heads north towards Marylebone Road and Euston Road. Euston Road forms the northern boundary of the central charging zone, so routes vary depending on traffic. Large-scale building work around Euston can change the drop-off arrangements, so your driver will use whichever access point is open on the day.
| Time of day | Typical journey |
|---|---|
| Before 07:00 | 35–45 min |
| Weekday peaks | 60–85 min |
| Evenings | 40–55 min |
| Off-peak daytime | 45–65 min |
Catching the Caledonian Sleeper
The Sleeper leaves Euston late in the evening. It is a special trip for many people, often with walking gear or bulky bags for a Highlands holiday. Book your car in advance, and leave a little extra time to find the Sleeper platform and check in with the onboard team.
For overnight trains, a late return home is just as easy to book. Our bookings line is open 24 hours on 020 3642 6159.
Business trips up the West Coast
Day trips to Birmingham or Manchester often mean an early start and a late return. Book both journeys together and the car will be waiting after your evening train. Ask for an executive car if you want a quieter space to work, and request an email receipt for expenses.
Choosing your vehicle
One or two travellers usually book a saloon. A family heading north for a holiday, with car seats and a week of bags, will find the 6 seater taxi more comfortable. Child seats are available on request.
Nearby terminals and airports
King's Cross is a short walk east of Euston if your train leaves from there instead. For flights rather than trains, we also run to Luton Airport, which is the nearest airport to the West Coast line out of London. Most Euston bookings start in Motspur Park and New Malden, and we also collect regularly from Merton Park and Sutton.
