Trains from Paddington
Paddington is the London terminus of Great Western Railway, with services to Reading, Oxford, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea, Exeter, Plymouth and Penzance. The Night Riviera Sleeper also leaves from here for Cornwall. Paddington is a major stop on the Elizabeth line too, though for most of our passengers the main reason to go is a long-distance train west.
Families heading to Devon or Cornwall for the summer are some of our most regular Paddington passengers. With beach gear, buckets and spades and a week's worth of luggage, the Tube is not much fun. A car straight to the station keeps it simple.
The route
From Motspur Park the car usually takes the A3 to Wandsworth and then crosses the Thames towards Earl's Court and Kensington. It then heads north to Paddington, reaching the station from the Praed Street side or Eastbourne Terrace, depending on which access is open. Paddington lies outside the central Congestion Charge zone, which keeps this route simple.
| Time of day | Typical journey |
|---|---|
| Early morning | 30–40 min |
| Weekday peaks | 55–80 min |
| Off-peak | 40–60 min |
Summer Saturdays are the busiest days for trains to the West Country. Book your car well ahead and allow extra time at the station, as the concourse can get very crowded.
Collection after your trip
Coming back from the west? Give us your train time when you book the return. If you are delayed, call 020 3642 6159 and we will move the pick-up. The driver will agree a meeting point near the station so you are not left searching for the car.
The right car for your journey
A saloon is perfect for one or two people. Families travelling with young children should consider our 6 seater taxi, which has space for car seats and plenty of luggage. Child seats are supplied on request. Larger groups can book the 7 seater MPV.
A Heathrow alternative
Paddington is also where the Heathrow Express starts. If your flight is from Heathrow, though, there is no need to go into central London at all. Our Heathrow airport taxi goes direct from Motspur Park and is usually quicker.
More London terminals
For trains north, see Euston and King's Cross. For journeys south to the coast, Victoria is the usual choice. We also collect from Raynes Park, Cheam and across the local area.
