Heading north from King's Cross
King's Cross is the London terminus for the East Coast Main Line, with LNER, Grand Central, Hull Trains and Lumo running to Peterborough, York, Leeds, Newcastle and Edinburgh. For a long trip north with a big case, the hard part is often getting to King's Cross in the first place. From Motspur Park that means a train to Waterloo, then the Northern line, then a walk through a busy concourse. A taxi to King's Cross replaces all of that with a single journey from your door.
How the car gets there
The usual route runs up the A3 through Wandsworth, crosses the river, then continues north via Hyde Park Corner, Park Lane and Marylebone Road onto Euston Road. That route mostly keeps to the edge of the central charging zone. Your driver may change the route if there are road works or closures on the day.
| Time of day | Typical journey |
|---|---|
| Early morning | 35–45 min |
| Weekday peaks | 65–90 min |
| Off-peak | 45–70 min |
Drop-off and timing
Cars can drop off close to the station on the surrounding roads. King's Cross is next to St Pancras, so the driver can drop you at whichever entrance suits you. For a booked seat on a long-distance train, allow at least 20 minutes between arrival and departure to find your platform and settle in.
Catching the Eurostar from St Pancras International? Check-in closes well before departure, so ask us for a pick-up time that leaves room for security and passport checks.
Collection from King's Cross
Coming home after a trip north? Book a pick-up with your train's scheduled arrival time and the train company. If the train runs late, call us on 020 3642 6159 and we will adjust. Your driver will agree a meeting point nearby, as cars cannot wait on the station forecourt.
Choosing the right vehicle
A saloon is fine for one or two travellers. Students heading to university in York or Durham with a term's worth of belongings, or a family visiting relatives for a week, will be better off in the 6 seater taxi. If you are booking for a group heading to a wedding or a match up north, the 7 seater MPV takes up to eight.
Other London terminals
Next door at Euston, trains run up the West Coast instead. If your journey starts further west, our Paddington station taxi is the one to book. We also run to Stansted, which is a common choice for flights from the north-east side of London. Most of our King's Cross pick-ups start in Motspur Park and New Malden, but we cover Wimbledon and Colliers Wood too.
